User settings

The User settings form is used to inspect and edit a number of settings that affect the user account and the way data is displayed in the applications accessible to the current user account.

This is a form available to all users, found under the username at the right side of the top bar of the screen. The settings are:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email

  • Phone number (mobile)

  • Time format: This setting decides how time values are displayed in the application of the current user. It must follow one of the supported format masks that indicate hours, minutes and seconds as HH, MM and SS, respectively.

  • Date format: This setting decides how date values are displayed in the application of the current user. It must follow one of the supported format masks that indicate days, months and years as DD, MM and YY (or YYYY for the whole four-digit value), respectively.

  • Language: Controls which language will be used to display system items (form buttons, pop-up messages, etc.) and number formatting for the current user.

If translations are missing for the selected language, then the system in many cases will use the Default language. If the Default language is also missing translations, an attempt to use English will be done by the system. Read more here or contact IS Tools support if you want help with translations.

  • Last login: Provided with server date and time.

  • Desktop start form*: Select a form that will be automatically displayed once logged in on desktop mode. If no start form is defined, an empty browser pane will be displayed next to the IS Tools navigation menu.

  • Mobile start form*: Same as above, but for mobile mode. In this case, note that only application forms can be selected, i.e., no system forms are available in this drop-down field.

  • Theme: Customize the looks of your application by choosing one of these themes (enabled upon granted right and available design).

  • Table section: Review changes before saving multiple records: Enables a confirmation pop-up window upon saving.

*Note that these settings are also available in User administration and Application preferences forms.

After changing the settings, click the Save button, and proceed to log out and log in again so the changes can take effect.

  • About security, the password can be changed by entering the current one, a new password and its confirmation, then click Change password.

If the application uses the Server default password policy, the password must follow this format:

  • Contain minimum 6 digits, including at least one digit (0..9), one alphabetic character (a..z, A..Z) and one non-alphanumeric character (e.g., punctuation marks).

  • Not contain user details (like the username, first name, etc.) as part of the password.

  • Phone number for SMS authentication. This is available only if the password policy set to the current user requires a "Password + SMS" authentication type. The mobile phone number must be entered by the application administrator with a valid international format, e.g., +46 70 6988621.
