Rule debug tool

Rules > Rule debug tool

Use this tool to analyze in real time and from any form how the rule execution in cascade is done after triggering any condition, how long it takes, if they lead to errors, and their impact on performance. The best of it is that you can run it “dry”, meaning that all changes you made while debugging can be reversed

  1. Open an application form where you wish to run rules.

  2. Click on the three-dot menu placed to the right on the Title bar.

  3. Click on Toggle rule debug tool.

  4. Optionally, click on the Dry run mode checkbox, in case you want to test the rule(s) reversing the triggered conditions and actions afterwards.

  5. In the form, modify the value of the field(s) that you know it triggers the condition of the rule, and save.

  6. Once the rule execution graph is displayed, observe the milliseconds the rule took to be generated, and the rules that came in cascade.

  7. Optionally, click on the colored bars to display detailed information in a section next by. Also, you may click on the links in this section, to see further information.

Scroll up with the mouse to narrow the timeline ruler in order to zoom in the rule execution bars. Then scroll horizontally in case you have more rules on the sides. Optionally, you may also pinch your touchpad to zoom in or out, or click and drag the timeline ruler on any of its sides.
