Notifications
The IS Tools platform provides the functionality of delivering notifications, generated by the system under specific events, or sent by the administrator.
Write a notification
Available only for administrators, find the Write notification form under the Administration folder, or add it via the Menu configuration form.
Once opened, choose or type the recipient of the notification (might be a specific user, all users, a role that contains many users, etc.) and enter the message. You may format the text with Markdown.
Optionally, tick the Show message in popup
checkbox in case you want the display it as a pop-up window, useful for important notifications. Note that users that were offline at the moment of the message being popped up will get an alert about an unread notification via the icon (located at the top right corner of the screen).
Choose the expiration date, and click on Send

Read a notification
Find and read all notifications sent by clicking on the icon (located at the top right corner of the screen), which indicates the number of unread messages with a red mark.
Click on any message or click on Show all
to display the Notifications form (i.e., the inbox), where you can filter by the source of the message (e.g., rule, report, etc.), search by text or by date.
Note that notifications can be manually deleted or marked as read/unread, and are stored for a specified time, set at server level, after which they are automatically deleted.
