Application configuration

The main tools to configure an application are two: the Data model editor, to create tables and fields, and the Form designer, to create application forms.

When making configuration changes to a live application, it’s important to minimize disruption for users. To reduce risk:

  • Consider working in a staging environment first, and deploy the changes using configuration bundles.

  • Consider making a copy of a form and do your changes there, before replacing the existing form.

  • Make changes during periods of low user activity.

  • Notify all application users in advance of the changes with notifications.
